Alyson Howard 

Driven by an innate creative force since childhood, Alyson Howard’s earliest memories are filled with intricate drawings and extensive crafting. For Alyson, art isn’t just a profession; it’s a source of healing, freedom, and guidance.

With over 30 years in a commercial career, Alyson’s artwork has found homes with collectors worldwide. She’s collaborated with interior designers on significant projects, including 45 identical paintings for a Birmingham hotel and a series for a leisure center, and her designs have graced homeware and clothing.

Recently, Alyson worked with Buckingham Fine Art Publishers, showcasing her paintings in high-end galleries across the country. Due to recent health challenges limiting her painting time, she’s returned to working as an independent artist, carefully balancing her artistic passion with her well-being.

A lifelong pursuit of freedom guides Alyson Howard’s artistic journey. Music, combined with nature, is a powerful muse for Alyson, translating frequencies into color, texture, and rhythm on her canvases. Her work masterfully blends the raw energy of music with her deep study of the natural world, resulting in a visual symphony of sound, soul, and spirit.

Alyson aims for a state of liberation in her art, painting from pure subconscious creativity. She envisions her works as portals, inviting viewers to journey beyond the physical into another dimension, reflecting an expansive and limitless subconscious mind.

Rosie Cunningham

Rosie Cunningham is an established artist working out of her studio in Plymouth.

After attending Plymouth College of Art and Design, she traveled extensively throughout Europe, America, and the Far East. She attributes her love of vibrant color to her time spent in these regions. Primarily painting with acrylics, Rosie has an eclectic style that ranges from textured abstracts to illustrative and quirky portraits and painted mannequins.

Her work has a global following and can be found in the homes of collectors in France, Eire, Italy, Switzerland, Australia, Lanzarote, the US, and throughout the UK.

Rosie has exhibited in Plymouth, Exeter, Exmouth, Totnes, Torquay, and London. 

Recently, Rosie has turned her hand to murals, finding this new challenge very satisfying and enjoyable to complete. Her first mural can be seen on the busy corner of Molesworth Road and Wilton Street, a piece commissioned by Plymouth Artists Together. She was also commissioned by Plymouth Community Homes to paint a mural on a wall in Colin Campbell Court in the center of Plymouth, which depicts the diversity of its tenants in the area.

Sharon Shaw

I am a local modern impressionist with deep roots in Plymouth. My childhood was spent living on the historic and vibrant Barbican, surrounded by the sea, narrow cobbled streets, and local characters – influences which continue to inspire my work. As a child, I was privileged to spend time in the studios of two of the city’s most celebrated painters, Beryl Cook and Robert Lenkiewicz — experiences that sparked my creative interest and left a lasting influence on my approach to art.

My work centres around bringing forward atmosphere and light, capturing the spirit and mood of Plymouth’s streets and coastal landscapes. I aim to transform familiar scenes into images that reflect the true atmosphere of Plymouth and it’s surrounding areas. Ultimately, my wish is that my art evokes emotion and a genuine sense of place in the viewer.
